On the positive side, I am glad that you are having interviews and I hope something good comes along, soon, for you!  Also happy to hear that Jordan is loving school.  My Anna also mentioned how much she is enjoying the block schedule!

I am amazed out how full your school is and the lack of text books.  That is such a shame!!

Our list of things we have to buy gets longer each year, and also includes things such as kleenex and wipes for the classroom.  It usually costs about $100 a child, per year, to get their supplies.  And that does not include the very expensive calculator they have to get in high school!  It is a graphing calculator.  I think our parents had it much easier, don't you!

Yay Interviews!  and it seems your Heat negative is a positive, it's been a brutal summer this year.  I can not wait for any blush of fall!

Our school had to donate text books to the new high school which is why we are so short on them here.  We are also short desks and there are 'need 6 desks' still taped to the doors of some classrooms that just didn't get enough desks.  Jordan's English class and his math class have students sitting at tables instead of sitting in desks.  The tables only accommodate two students as they don't have the handy dandy book/back pack holders under the chairs.

I remember my parents having to buy my brother a scientific calculator in 1975 or so.  It cost over $100 and it was stolen/lost less than two weeks after Jim got it.  My parents were not at all happy about it and I seem to remember the subject of the lost calculator came up quite a bit in general conversations several times.

I just wish the interviews would lead to:  You're hired!

Katiebell

yes!  i wish so too, interviewing is tiring!

Yes, the calculators still run around $100!  Hopefully, the kids will tattoo their names on them and keep them with them at all times :)

I told Jordan that if he lost this year's calculator that he was just going to have to do with out.  He can keep track of the $5.00 calculator better than he can keep up with the more expensive ones....and, how does a kid lose his colored pencils EVERY stinking year before the first progress reports come out?

Freedom Smith

LOL!!!  Amazing.  Our elementary classes had cubbies that held things like colored pencils.  They must not have a place for him to keep his things?  Amazing what all kids can lose!

Oh, he has a locker and I bet right now there is nothing in it but some dust.  Since the teachers aren't issuing text books and they do the block schedule and he has band for one of his four classes---he only has to keep up with three binders.  He can stash anything not needed for the class that he is physically in inside his backpack.  As far as I know---Boy Wonder still has all of this years supplies.

Good job, Boy Wonder!  Chad tends to carry all of his things around, all day, in his backpack.  I cannot even lift it, it is so heavy!
